SLAB ELECTRIC UNDERFLOOR HEATING

The Comfort Heat slab cable underfloor heating system is ideal for large residential areas and commercial buildings, can be used with all types of floor coverings and requires a new slab construction.

A popular option for large areas as in slab heating creates a large thermal mass, storing heat for long periods of time. In slab heating has slow response time, taking 10-24 hours to heat up, depending on temperature, slab thickness and insulation, but retains heat for a long time after power has been cut.

Ideal for areas that require all day heating as in slab heating can utilise cheaper off-peak electrical rates or daytime solar power and still maintain a warm home during the evening. In slab heating can be an excellent cost and energy efficient heating solution.

INSTALLATIONS

The Comfort Heat in slab underfloor heating cable is attached to the reinforcing rods installed at 200mm centres [one direction only] or a slab reinforcing mesh at 200mm centres [i.e. F72]. The in slab cable requires a minimum of 30mm coverage over the cable for slab integrity.

Bottom and edge insulation is very important with in slab heating to prevent heat loss and ensure efficiency. Insulation is strongly advised.

For large areas Comfort Heat must be advised of any expansion joints in the slab as cable must not be installed over an expansion joint.

CABLE TECHNOLOGY

The in slab Comfort Heat underfloor heating cable is a multi-strand, double-insulated single cable system providing superior strength, preventing cable failure due to slab movement.

The in slab Comfort Heat underfloor heating cable has a heat output of 160W /m. Available in factory terminated lengths ranging from 29mts up to 168mts.
